I hadn't seen your web site since it turned into a blog, and I wanted to say that even though it can be a bit more… 'Dirty' than what I would do myself, I really like your style! It's very rare that I find someone who is into both Victorian-gothic and arabesque elegance and things which are purely surreal and alien. I especially like the idea of reinterpreting a folk tale which a radically different visual style. I'm not so sure that abstracting the story as well is such a good idea as that might make it too similar to the 'Nature Is Ancient' video - but of course I can't tell if this is the case until see the final product.
I was quite surprised that you hadn't seen 'La Planète sauvage' until recently, but have already seen the manga or animé of 'Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind'? That was strongly influenced by 'LPs' - very similar in some ways but new enough to be interesting. And the creator of Nausicaä worked on 'The Little Prince', which I think 'LPs' was in turn influenced by - I suppose that almost gives him a right to copy from it.
And as I mentioned gothic and arabesque - you might also like '×××HOLiC' (particularly the more surreal episodes like the sake tree) and for blobby reto-sci-fi with a modern twist there's 'Pastel Defender Heliotrope'.
