As promised here is the update to my previous post. Most of the sculpting work, except for a few little details, is done and the next thing will be the production of the molds for the different parts… so, stay tuned.

The toy will be released in the second week of November with the opening of the “Russians” exhibitions at rotopol.

I’ve taken stabs at sculpting in the past but it has never been really serious nor successful. This is about to change and I present you with my first sculpt that will be realized into a full blown multi-part resin cast which will be released in less than two months from now. Keep tuned for further updates as I reveal further details.

A while ago I bought this crappy little mini skateboard with the intention of customizing it. Well, today I finally finished painting it (acrylics, of course). If anyone is interested in buying it, please let me know via the comments and I’ll get back to you.

I bought this pair of Blobpus and Blobpi at Charactics in Osaka, Japan but never really enjoyed its color scheme so I decided to give it some of my own magic. This one has a base coat of pearlescent green acryl on which I put some high glossy acryl and let it drip all over. While the paint was still wet I partially covered it with neon pink spray paint which resulted in cracks of the latter since it dries a lot faster. The eyes are a mixture of orange and gold acryl with a glossy clear coat mixed with gold as well.

Here is a custom for a good friend I have been working on in the past two weeks. Like some other customs in the past it took me a bit to find the way and partially sanding it down saved the day once again. I really enjoyed doing this one and I regret that the airline I am flying with has such restrictive rules concerning the weight of my luggage (20kg per person!) otherwise I would have bought another kokeshi for future customization. On the other hand I ordered a bunch of toys at rotofugi that are only waiting to be customized, so it is not like I do not have enough to do in the near future. ^_^
