Ice Comic – An Animated Walkthrough

Having finished the comic, here is another little treat. I haven’t shown much lately in the regard of tutorials or step by step walkthroughs so I thought it would be nice to have something animated for a change. This is page 3 of the story – basically these are the “iterative save” steps I did in painter. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask me. I am happy to help and explain.

Ice Comic – finally finished

Before I forget about posting this again. I am proud to be among the select few in this years volume of the “Triebwerk” the anthology of the illustration class of the school of art and design in Kassel. My contribution is the comic story I’ve been posting about earlier. And as further motivation here is the comic in its entire form (in German, of course). So, if you enjoy my story and want to support an upcoming group of new comic and illustration artists, please do not hesitate to shop for this and other great goods at rotopolpress. Now, if you happen to be in Germany, you might as well want to come to Kassel directly and check out the exhibition of original artwork at rotopol.

Charles and Stephane Transformers

Fellow blogger and artist Curtis Lubbe aka collapsibleboat has done something cool. He transformed two of my sketches into something tangible: wonderfully sculpted and then burnt and glazed busts. You can see a few more pictures of Charles and Stephane here and of course don’t miss out on all the other wonderful creatures made by Curtis.
