Here is a colorful series of quick sketches of different people on the train to Kobe. I had planned to visit the Kobe City Museum to see an exhibition of masterpieces of ukiyo-e but I had forgotten that the museum is closed on mondays so I ended up shopping out of frustration…

Here is a custom for a good friend I have been working on in the past two weeks. Like some other customs in the past it took me a bit to find the way and partially sanding it down saved the day once again. I really enjoyed doing this one and I regret that the airline I am flying with has such restrictive rules concerning the weight of my luggage (20kg per person!) otherwise I would have bought another kokeshi for future customization. On the other hand I ordered a bunch of toys at rotofugi that are only waiting to be customized, so it is not like I do not have enough to do in the near future. ^_^

I’ve been working on this custom for quite a while and I am not really happy how this turned out. The line work is all crappy and all my friends say that I shouldn’t play with food. I ated it anyways. I gotz egg. ^_^

I knew it would be fun to customize and not only because of the female shape. He. It’s a nice change to the never ending flood of round and simple western vinyl toys.
